Day 3 (01/08/08)We had our Amazing Race within NUS.
Nothing much.
Except there was this good-looking engineering guy who talked to us in the shuttle bus(:
At night was time to reveal our SP
and go for buffet dinner!
I tell you that dinner was the nicest dinner throughout the camp.
They actually gave us nice food..
lols
even though it was pretty bland..
compared to the packet dinner, it was good=p
Anyway met my SP.
He was a nice guy(:
We had to come up with pick up lines.
I came up with the lines!
lols
it was lame but i managed to come up with it(:
After dinner was watching a romantic movie with our SP.
The movie was 'A Walk To Remember'.
A Walk To Remember.
Get it??
lols
They really played the movie.
But the purpose was so that they can let group by group go for our Fright Night.
It was a scary walk through the level.
I was so scared even though I knew that they were only our seniors all in full face make up and ghostly costumes.
They kept on shocking us.
I screamed a lot obviously.
And unfortunately most of the time I screamed into my SP's ears
cos I was clinging onto him throughout.
LOLs
If I were the one who was watching us go through the walk, I'd think it was funny..
And whenever there were things to do, they made the girls do it.
I had to stick my hand into this tub filled with yucky thing (which in the end i found out was starch water) to find a bottle cap.
In the end of the whole walk, my SP was so kind.
He was looking for a toilet so that I could wash my hands.
Lols.
I was so scared to enter the toilet alone but did it anyway.
That was the last night.
6:12 PM
Day 2 (31/07/08)It was a day filled with wet station games.
Thats all I can say.
The aim mainly was to get wet.
Cooling in the hot sun.
BUT wet and yucks.
We took a group video after dinner.
Our video was pretty creative!
Ben was the one who came up with it(:
BUT we had to roll down a slope.
A grassy slope.
A steep grassy slope.
A steep sharp grassy slope.
In the end, everyone was itching and suffering from many many tinny cuts.
you noe..the kind that stings when you wash it.
Anyway, our OGLs did a very hilarious but 'dirrrty' part in the video.
Can't describe it.
But hey they were pretty sporting(=
At night was SP night again(:
I should say my SP was really nice(:
4:41 PM
Science Orientation Week 2008.Day 1 (30/07/08)Ratna & I were pretty late.
But it was alright bcos many were late too.
During the icebreaker games, we played this one violent game.
It was fun but OUCH!
I got like bruises from Andy.
After the icebreakers, we played normal station games in the field.
This was the normal, messy, flour-filled and typical orientation team-bonding games.
Not that it was not fun..
just that it was too messy and typical.
That night though we had 'Not Just Another Station Game'.
or something that sounds like that.
This was unique
BUT omg..i don't think I can go through it again..
The 1st station we got was this question and answer game.
The losing team had to eat fried larva, crickets and frogs.
It was beyond disgusting!
Thank god it was not HALAL.
I was saved due to that..hehe
BUT I still didn't want my group eating those things..
All didn't like the idea in fact.
ewww!
So we played the game with that in mind and in the end WON!
(:(:(:
2nd station was this mealworm filled station.
we had to use our mouth and only our mouth to get the pegs with letters
to form 'El Espia...something something...'
and the pegs were in a basin with mealworms!
YUCKS!!!!
I was so terrified but had to do it in the end.
One thing good was that the pegs stuck out of the mess of mealworms.
So my mouth didn't touch those things..
THANK GOD.
3rd station was this simple card game
only that the losing team had to drink a drink that was made specially by all of the players.
the teams had to take one poker card.
the 'dealer' would then state which is the losing card.
the team with the bad card would obviously lose.
a tray with wasabi, chilli sauce, tomato sauce, blended ginger, blended onion, a few blended vegetables, mayo and condensed milk with egg was passed around.
teams can mix whatever they wanted into the cup.
so can you imagine the yuck factor..
anyway my team didn't lose.
so thank god again(:
there was this guy in our OG who was so called 'man-of-the-hour'
he helped one of our OG teams drink the stuff.
wow.
just wow.
3rd station was not too bad so I shall not waste my time talking about it.
the next few stations were the worst of the lot.
this was individual games.
there were 4 stations but I went for 2.
we were divided into 2 groups so that each group could do at least 2 stations
this was due to the lack of time and that each station was individual.
the 1st station.
each person had to be blindfolded
they went into the room one by one.
they had to guess what was the stuff that was put on their palms.
the seniors put lots and lots of mealworms.
eeeeeeeeee!
i didn't do this thank god.
or I have a feeling I would have made a few seniors deaf.
plus I would have flung the mealworms...
so I had to do the 2nd station.
no blindfolds.
I had to go into the room
and there was this senior who loved scaring the hell out of us.
he kept on stuffing his clenched fists to our faces.
and you would think there was something in it.
thank god i kept on running away from him cos there was a dead cockroach!
they love seeing the girls scream in fear....
anyway back to the station..
there was a fish tank with like 5 or so cockroaches in it!
and they wanted us to touch the cockroach!
OMG laaaahh
my 1st reaction was to scream..
i kept on screaming i didn't want to do it..
and trying to move away from the evil creatures..
in the end the seniors said i could just touch the bottom of the tank..
with the whole palm for 10seconds.
I bargained for 5s..which obviously the seniors made into 10s..
so no difference.
It was a HUGE accomplishment that I managed to put my hand in there for a few seconds.
i was behaving like a fool talking to the cockroaches..
telling them not to move..not to fly..
AND to make things worst, I had to cry..
if only I cried earlier..then I didn't have to do it..
one of the seniors was soooo mean!
he shook the tank in the last second when my hand was in there.
obviously i immed took my hand out and screamed..
and they all found it hilarious.
wow.
another station i had to go for was a station where we were blindfolded
and had to feel something in the water.
and guess what it was.
edwin (one of the seniors) did a really great job in scaring all of us.
I was so terrified I didn't want to enter the room.
but as usual was forced to do it.
I was screaming the whole time..
and it took me a while to finally gather my courage to feel the thing.
i didn't even had time to process the feeling of the thing..
all I knew was I screamed and took my hand out..
then I just randomly guessed frog.
The senior asked me to take off the blindfold and have a look at the thing.
IT WAS ALOE!!!
zzzzzzzz!!!
scared for nothing.
lols!
there was a last station.
that was the station where they had to feel for a non-living thing in a box with living things.
lols
a box with a toy and many many little frogs.
lols they had to do it blindfolded.
thank god i didn't do this station(:
the night ended with 'Secret Pal' night.
where we had time to have a chat with our secret pal while being blindfolded so we couldn't see our partner.
this is better than Angel & Mortal game(:
ok tts it for DAY 1..
finally.
hehe.

Had a headache the whole afternoon...
even after the little nap i had,
it still didn't go away..
maybe its the effects of sleeping late so often lately..
anyway,
i think i sounded so pathetic yesterday.
hehe.
now that i'm thinking straight,
i find that i'm sort of a little excited of the camp.
it should be fun(:
oh did i mention
that yesterday was the 1st time i saw this year's ndp theme song on tv!!
LOLS
it shows how much local tv i watch...

I'm selected for the orientation camp.
yay..?
My birthday will be spent in camp.
with people who won't even know it's my birthday.
I hope they are nice people.
1st time I won't be spending my birthday with my family!
I won't get to see my honey.
He would be done with his reservist.
And he has leave.
And I won't get to see my honey!
Good thing is..
I would get to know people who are going to be taking the same major as me.
Or at least people who are going to be in the same faculty as me.
New friends in the scary-looking NUS.
Good thing is..
I would not be as lonely as I imagined I would be when school starts.
I hope..
Good thing is..
I will be bidding for my modules with seniors around.
So if i'm blur about it, there is help.
thats it.
11:31 AM
it turns out that the orientation camp is not too bad..
cos its not a straight 8days camp..
30th july - 2nd aug : 1st stayover
4th aug - 5th aug : in school orientation
7th aug - 8th aug : 2nd stayover
one problem though..
we have to sleep in the LTs
and bathe using pails..
imagine how yucky we will be..
i wont feel clean..
definitely..
errgh
but i guess its worth suffering through it
cos i won't feel so lost on the 1st day of school(:
anyway, the briefing only lasted about 15minutes..
but we left so late..
cos i had to convince ratna to go for the camp!!
lols!
wow that was super tiring..
convincing ratna was DIFFICULT
really..
anyway she decided to register in the end
so its alright(:
but then i had to be late meeting aidil
from 11 to 12..
but at least i was still 1st at the platform!! =p
went for lunch at vivo..
ate chicken noodle..
i meant only the noodle and not the chicken..
cos of the stupid ulcer
it hurts cos the chicken is salty..
taking my medicine..
wah now i have 2 mommys nagging me to take medicine..
shall not complain about that here..
hehe
so anyway after lunch we went to see the petshop at vivo!!
aww the puppies are just plain adorable!!
ok let me explain..
i love looking at puppies or dogs..
they are so cute
BUT i am scared of them
as long as they are far away or i definitely know i'm safe from them,
its alright(:
went mount faber after that.
my god.
it was torture walking around in those shoes..
had blisters on my feet that HURT!
imagine we actually walked down the MOUNTAIN
with my stupid shoes!
ouch! ouch!
hahaha
but had to keep on telling honey that it was okay.
that it didn't hurt too bad (:
hehe.
but it was so relaxing sitting there with the wind..
nice! (:
so i'd say yesterday was great
minus the pain due to the shoes
(:(:

So today Ratna and I went for the NUS freshmen briefing.
We were late so we ended up taking a taxi from clementi.
Anyway, even after the talks about CORS..
the professors trying to explain about this whole bidding system..
I am still blur about the whole thing!
Ok now..
its not only me..
Ratna is also blur about it..
When we asked Raja, she was blur too.
We asked Leny and her friend, they were blur too...
So in conclusion,
most are still blur about CORS
and still don't understand how it works.
zz
We left after lunch..
Could not make ourselves stay for the other talks..
which seemed boring to us..
we wanted to go for the different department talks..
but it meant waiting for sooo long..
so we just decided to leave..
Anyway I FINALLY went to the doctor today..
regarding the pain at the back of my tongue..
apparently its a throat infection
and apparently I have fever..
I didn't even realise that I was feverish..
haha
*so that was why Ratna said I was warm..
i kinda thought it was just me being such a warm girl and all..*
hehe.
so now I have to force myself to take so many medicines..
I thought that it was just an ulcer..
and it was apparently just the tip of an ice-berg.
lols
honey honey did you pass your ippt then..
didn't get a goodnight message yesterday..
hehe
oh I know you are going to say I complain too much..
so save your breath..
I KNOW! (:
